Nuit Blanche: Clothesline Canopy

Clothesline Canopy, an art installation at Nuit Blanche in Toronto, featured 5,000 pairs of socks (including McGregor socks) strung along clotheslines overhead creating a sheltering effect for participants. The socks bring attention to the needs and living conditions of Toronto’s homeless population. Created by Sherri Newmanv, Tara Gaskin, Kristiana Schuhman, Selen Levi, Zachary Eisenstein, Sam Bruegger, and William Vachon — all alumni of the School of Architecture at Dalhousie University.

Socks hung during the event were later donated to local shelters.
